HELLO KARYN,
I hope all is well. I stumbled across an article about you on the
blog ybf.com. The article
spoke about your company Sweet Blackberry and influence behind
the company. For many years I have always been interested in
finding an entertaining way to get my younger cousins to learn
about African American history outside of what is taught traditionally
in the schools. Sweet Blackberry is the perfect
option for introducing young children to their history. I am
21 years old and currently a Junior at Pace University,
I am taking a course which compares racial and gender practices
in the US and South Africa. I have been blessed through this
course to learn alot about the world around me. Next month
my class will be taking a trip to South Africa. I have learned
so much and would love to share my love of my culture with
my younger cousins so that they too can have an appreciation
for who they are. I said all that to say keep up the good work
and also that I have been inspired by you. If it is at all
possible I would like to have a press kit sent to me. Thank
you again for your time.

MS PARSONS,
I have ordered Garret’s Gift for the Blue Island Public Library and cannot wait to see the newest masterpiece from Sweet Blackberry. In these times in Illinois, and I’m close to Chicago where our young people are being destroyed by their peers, our children need inspiration from great people who never gave up and persevered through failures to ultimately triumph. Please, we need more of these wonderful film!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Thank you for creating this. I am an African American mother with
2 boys 8 and 13. As I am typing this email my 8 year old is watching
your video on HBO. He hasn't moved since it started, and this is a
kid who is constantly moving around. He loves seeing characters who
look like him on television. I love having our history told in an
entertaining way so our children can understand it. We have watched
both videos and wish there was more. Thank You,
DeDe Hunt
